This teen romantic drama is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Jennifer Niven. This movie revolves around Violet Markey who is unable to make peace with herself after her sister’s death, and Theodore Finch who is suffering from bipolar disorder and often labelled an outcast. Violet stands over the ledge of the same bridge where her sister died months ago, Finch sees her and immediately talks her out from committing suicide. While everyone around them judges and makes fun of them, they find hope and comfort in one another. Finch nudges her to fight her emotional battle and encourages her to find happiness in the smallest places and moments. The movie is based on the idea that everyone is fighting their own battles in life and it’s important to be considerate towards each other.
Released in 2020 All the Bright Places can be streamed on Netflix. The characters are real and portray raw emotions which makes it relatable and very close to home, it is a must watch drama.
