A South African game reserve managed by Martin Battles, a wildlife biologist was visited by a recently widowed Dr. Nate Daniels and his two teenage daughters Meredith and Norah, where a journey of healing soon turns into a hustle to get out alive as they are chased by a lion who itself escaped from poachers.
A film largely concerned with the series of terrors a lion can leave leading it to become a modest success. The movie opens on the plains of South Africa, where a group of poachers is descending upon the land. Here the Samuel family encounters the lion during a safari led by Banji, a fellow wildlife preservationist, and Martin. The pride of lions greets the family like pets when Banji explains the role of each lion in the pride. After a series of dangerous encounters with the male lion, the leader of the pride They are finally able to escape. Nate is unconscious and later gains consciousness in the hospital where his daughters tell him how Banji rescued them and saved their lives.
After a horrifying experience, they continue their trip by visiting a tree that their mother loved in her young years.
