On the way to Troubadours, an unexpected reunion of father-son leads to an awkward opening up of old wounds. This Turkish drama film shows an unlikely journey they embark upon on meeting each other after 25 years.
The original Turkish title of the movie is Asiklar Bayrami, and it is an adaptation of a novel by the same name written by Kemal Varol.
The reconciliation leads to the confrontation of all the repressed feelings and complaints the son had from his father. The son brings out all the complaints he had so far. this portrayal of the dysfunctional parent-child relationship creates a powerful theme enforcing a lot of factors that are ignored such as unresolved guilt, grief, and the requirement of closure to eventually find themselves. The two characters in the movie are perfectly written and both the actors justify their roles to make the movie heartfelt. Even with the use of minimal dialogues and long silences the awkward ones, this movie manages to establish and justify the theme it proposed.
