An obnoxious drunk named Dae-Su was bailed from the police station by a friend. later abducted again from the street waking up in a cell, he remained there for the next 15 years, was drugged his only company was television. This movie is based on a graphic novel written by Nobuaki Minegishi and Garon Tsuchiya. the cinematic adaptation was later done by Chan-wook Park. Dae-Su’s life is already not very happening which is later made even worse with the abduction and unimaginable torment, from an unknown captor, when freed from the confinement his only goal in life becomes to find the person who stole two decades of his life. The movie keeps you hooked till the very end in order to find out who abducted him and why what was his motive and what he wanted him to explore. He was a proven drunkard, uncaring father and husband also an unworthy employee, while in captivity he also gets to know that he is beimg framed for his wife’s murder and thats when he hits rock bottom. Oldboy is dramatic revenge saga ‘Guns don’t kill, people do.’ This is the foundation of the mystery thriller. Here the ending of the movie though voilent makes a statement and has a purpose.
