Weathering With You is a Japanese animated fantasy series. Makoto is a runaway teenager who sparks a friendship with an orphaned ‘sunshine girl’ Hina who has the ability to control weather. Both struggle and face various adversities in life, Makoto works at multiple jobs while Hina is trying to support her younger brother’s elementary education.
Tokyo experiences a heavy downpour, Hina uses her ability to stop the rain but fails and faced with a heavy punishment. Makoto saves Hina and sacrifices himself and going against traditions.
